I have started this blog, you know why? Normally one would expect that the son will follow the father. But I decided to change the rules. I have started following my son, be it photography, be it blogging..........
I had been into music in my student days and it was serious stuff - Indian classical music. You can imagine, in those days, following music was really difficult with the elders always breathing down your neck about the performances in studies. Till now, I am with music, albeit a bit quietly and making public appearances rarely. I also had a crush on photography, Used my father's very old German made Kodak 35 mm film camera. It taught me to look at everything around me differently.
A few years later I bought a Canonet G-III, QL-17 film camera from a sale in Pittsburgh. Got it quite cheap. But when I started shooting with it, I was simply floored with its results and I went into more shooting. My son and a few years later my daughter were my subjects. But I never gave a seroious thought to nature and wildlife photography.
I also bought a SONY DSC H-50 when it came into the market. It was a good canera but had its limitations and I wasn't really happy with its options. And then I decided to losen my purse strings a little more. Bought a Canon EOS 1000D with its available kit lens. Added a few more lenses later.
I have set my sight at everything in bits. A bit of flowers, butterflies, wildlife etc. A few hundred shots later, I will narrow down my afea of work. But thats later..............
